My coworker (who is super smart, very informed, politically astute, and, as far as I know, scandal-free, and who I wish would run for office) summed it up this way: “People are tired of being set against each other, of being divided. And, yesterday, they voted hopeful rather than fearful. And when people vote based on hope, let’s face it, Democrats win.”

  1. Keith Olbermann (I want that man’s babies, or die trying) said it well a couple of weeks ago:

“Eleven presidents ago, the chief executive reassured us that ‘we have nothing to fear, but fear itself.’ His distant successor has wasted his administration, insisting there is nothing we can have but fear itself.”
