For those of you that don’t know I’m a huge fan of The Sun Magazine. Sy Safransky is the visionary and editor of this 30+ year old, non-profit, ad free space for contributors to show the naked contents of their cherished, imperfect lives.
His writing is so good that I just gotta share it. This month’s gem came from a set of reflections on the anxiety that permeates his life when his wife Norma goes away.
Jealousy knocks. He wants to stay a few days. I try to explain that this isn’t the best time for company, but he brushes past me, flops down on the sofa, plants his feet on the coffee table. Now, he says, where’s that pretty wife of yours?
